The Magic Of Gratitude

No matter who you are, no matter where you are, no matter what your current
circumstances, the magic of gratitude will change your entire life!

Gratitude can magically turn your relationships into joyful and meaningful
relationships, no matter what state they are in now. Gratitude can miraculously make
you more prosperous so that you have the money you need to do the things you want to
do. It will increase your health and bring a level of happiness beyond what you’ve
ever felt before.

Gratitude will work its magic to accelerate your career, increase
success, and bring about your dream job or whatever it is you want to do. In fact,
whatever it is that you want to be, do, or have, gratitude is the way to receive it. The
magical power of gratitude turns your life into gold!

As you practice gratitude, you will understand why particular things in your life
may have gone wrong, and why certain things might be missing from your life. As you
make gratitude a way of life, you will wake up each morning so excited to be alive.
You will find yourself completely in love with life. Everything will seem effortless.
You will feel as light as a feather and happier than you’ve ever felt before. While
challenges may come, you will know how to overcome them and learn from them.
Every day will be magical; every day will be filled with far more magic than when
you were a child.

Are You Being Grateful?

You can tell right now how much you have actually used gratitude in your life. Just
take a look at all of the major areas in your life: money, health, happiness, career,
home, and relationships. The areas of your life that are abundant and wonderful are
where you have used gratitude and are experiencing the magic as a result. Any areas
that are not abundant and wonderful are due to a lack of gratitude.

It’s a simple fact: when you’re not grateful you cannot receive more in return.
You’ve stopped the magic from continuing in your life. When you’re not grateful you
stop the flow of better health, better relationships, more joy, more money, and the
advancement of your job, career, or business.

Gratitude is giving thanks, and without it you cut yourself off from the magic and from receiving everything you want in life. The bottom line of ungratefulness is that when we’re not grateful, we’re taking; we’re taking things in our life for granted. When we take things for granted we are unintentionally taking from ourselves.

Most certainly you have been grateful at various times in your life, but to see the
magic and cause a radical change to your current circumstances, you have to practice
gratitude and make it your new way of life.

The Magic Of Gratitude

Few Exercises To Practice Gratitude In Your Daily Life

Gratitude is a feeling. So the ultimate aim in practicing gratitude is to deliberately feel it as much as you can, because it’s the force of your feeling that accelerates the magic in your life. What you give you receive, equally. That means that if you increase your feeling of gratitude, the results in your life will expand to be equal to your feeling! The truer the feeling, the more sincerely grateful you are, the faster your life will change.

When you discover how little practice it takes, how easy it is to incorporate gratitude into your daily life, and when you see the magical results for yourself, you will never want to return to the life you used to live.

If you practice gratitude a little, your life will change a little. If you practice gratitude a lot every day, your life will change dramatically and in ways that you can hardly imagine.

1. Journaling

Writing down a few things you are grateful for is probably the easiest and most popular gratitude exercise available.  It is important that you cater your practice to what you need. Perhaps journaling every day for a short amount of time will work, but over time the increased jubilation you enjoy from the daily practice probably won’t be manifested.

It is important that you sincerely pay attention to the things you are grateful for. Also, it will behoove you to express your gratitude more for people as opposed to objects. Imagine your life without the things you are grateful before you begin writing. That should definitely boost your gratitude barometer.

2. Gratitude Rock

This exercise may sound a little silly. You may be thinking, “A rock? How can a rock help me practice gratitude?”

The secret to this exercise is that the rock is just a symbol, a physical object you can use to remind yourself of what you have. The instructions are about as simple as instructions can be: just find a rock!

Make sure to pick one you like, whether you like it because it’s pretty, because it is smooth or has an interesting texture, or because you picked it up from a special place. If you have another small object you’d rather use instead, feel free to substitute that for the rock.

Carry this rock around in your pocket, leave it on your desk where you will see it throughout your day, or even wear it on a chain around your neck or your wrist.

Whenever you see it or touch it, pause to think about at least one thing you are grateful for. Whether it’s something as small as the sun shining down on you in this moment or as large as the job that allows you to feed yourself or your family, just think of one thing that brings you joy or fulfillment.

When you take the stone out of your pocket or off of your body at the end of the day, take a moment to remember the things that you were grateful for throughout the day. When you put it on or in your pocket again in  the morning, repeat this process to remember what you were grateful for yesterday.

Not only will this help you remember the things you are grateful for.  It will bring you out of your head and into the present moment, giving you something to focus your attention on. Gratitude's magic words or statements are : "Thank You", and I Am Grateful for this........or that etc".

3. Gratitude Box

The gratitude box is a thoughtful way to share your feelings with loved ones and cultivate your own sense of gratitude.

This is another easy activity that requires only a box, some paper, and a pen or pencil to write down gratitude messages. You can make the box yourself or buy one, the prettier the better!

On the paper, write down a heartfelt message of gratitude to your loved one. If you’re not sure how to start, here are some suggestions to begin your message:

1) “Thank you for…”
2) “What I love about you…”
3) “My holiday wish for you…”

You can also collect messages from others about your loved one, to pack the box with multiple messages of gratitude and love.

Place the message(s) into the box, wrap it up or put a bow on it, and give it to your loved one as a special gift, to both your loved one and yourself.

 4. Gratitude Prompts

Gratitude prompts are a great way to get started, continue your practice, or kick start a stalled gratitude practice. This is also a relatively simple exercise, with only one instruction: fill in the blank!

These prompts provide several ways to begin a gratitude statement, with infinite possibilities for completion. They cover multiple senses, colors, people, and things. The aim is to identify at least three things in each category that you are thankful for.

The prompts include:
  • I’m grateful for three things I hear:
  • I’m grateful for three things I see:
  • I’m grateful for three things I smell:
  • I’m grateful for three things I touch/feel:
  • I’m grateful for these three things I taste:
  • I’m grateful for these three blue things:
  • I’m grateful for these three animals/birds:
  • I’m grateful for these three friends:
  • I’m grateful for these three teachers:
  • I’m grateful for these three family members:
  • I’m grateful for these three things in my home:
  • I’m grateful for these three people who hired me:
  • Etc.
5. Gratitude Walk

This exercise is easy to try out, and only requires your sense of gratitude and a pair of feet! The gratitude walk is a simple way to find the things you are grateful for in your life.

This may be difficult at first, but you’ll soon find a nearly endless list of things to be grateful for.

When you are going through a particularly rough time try cleansing your mind and your soul with a gratitude walk. Just as the combination of deep conscious breathing and gratitude can release stress or increase feelings of well-being, walking with a gratitude focal point can offer the same healing.

The aim of the gratitude walk is to observe the things you see around you as you walk. Take it all in. Be aware of the nature, the colors of the trees, the sounds the birds make, and the smell of the plants. Notice how your feet feel when you step onto the ground. Hopefully it will be easy to express gratitude for all the things that you are experiencing in the present moment.

The effects are more potent when you can enjoy a gratitude walk with your partner or a friend. In this way you can show them appreciation for being able to spend the time walking together.

6. Gratitude Reflection

Gratitude reflection is an important part of our inner being experience. and the cultivation of a sense of self-awareness. These practices can lead to an enhanced sense of well-being, among other benefits, although enhanced well-being is enough of a benefit for most of us!

To practice gratitude reflection, follow these steps:

  • Settle yourself in a relaxed posture. Take a few deep, calming breaths to relax and centre. Let your awareness move to your immediate environment: all the things you can smell, taste, touch, see, hear. Say to yourself: “For this, I am grateful.”
  • Next, bring to mind those people in your life to whom you are close: your friends, family, partner…. Say to yourself, “For this, I am grateful.”
  • Next, turn your attention onto yourself: you are a unique individual, blessed with imagination, the ability to communicate, to learn from the past and plan for the future, to overcome any pain you may be experiencing. Say to yourself: “For this, I am grateful.”
  • Finally, rest into the realization that life is a precious gift. That you have been born into a period of immense prosperity, that you have the gift of health, culture and access to spiritual and consciousness teachings. Say to yourself: “For this, I am grateful.” Fill up the blanks.

 7. Gratitude For Your Body

Lie down and move your mind’s spotlight slowly from your toes to your head. As you concentrate on each body part, express gratitude. For example, you may say to yourself, “Thank you, feet, for taking me on epic adventures.”

8. Take Three Deep Breaths

This simple practice can give you enough time for one simple moment of gratitude. Be grateful for your breath, because you wouldn’t be here without it.

9.  Track three good things

Each day for a week, write down three good things about your day. At the end of the week, review your list to remind yourself that you have a lot to be grateful for.

So there are many ways to express gratitude in your life for your life. So start your life with an attitude of gratitude, this will definitely change the way you perceive your life. Stop complaining! start being grateful for what you have and everything. Remember that always grateful people are happy people, because they know that only the true genuine gratitude and appreciation brings ultimate joy for them and for their life.
